Yoga Practice at Namrup College

Namrup College has always been committed to the holistic development of its students. In line with this vision, the college has introduced a rigorous yoga practice session for its students, aiming to promote physical fitness, mental well-being, and a healthy lifestyle.

Details of the Yoga Practice

The yoga sessions are conducted daily from 5:00 pm to 6:00 pm within the college campus. This initiative began on 12th June 2025 and is a regular activity for the academic session 2025-26. The sessions are led by Dr. Durga Prasad Gogoi, Principal of Namrup College, who is actively involved in guiding the students. He is supported by other experienced yoga coaches, ensuring that students receive quality instruction and personal attention.

Student Participation

The response from the students has been highly encouraging, with more than 20 students participating regularly in the evening yoga practice. The sessions are designed to accommodate both beginners and those with prior experience, making it inclusive and beneficial for all.

Upcoming Event: International Yoga Day

As a highlight of this initiative, the participating students are preparing to take part in the Mega Yoga Day Celebration, scheduled for 21st June 2025. This event will not only showcase their progress but also promote the importance of yoga among the wider college community.

The yoga practice at Namrup College has become a valuable addition to the students’ daily routine, fostering discipline, concentration, and overall well-being. The dedication of Dr. Durga Prasad Gogoi and the yoga coaches, coupled with enthusiastic student participation, is setting a strong foundation for a healthier and more active campus environment. The upcoming Mega Yoga Day Celebration promises to be a testament to the success of this initiative.
