The Women’s Studies and Development Cell (WSDC) of Namrup College organized a programme on the occasion of Menstrual Hygiene Day with the objective of creating awareness regarding menstrual health, hygiene, and related issues among students and participants.
Dr. Dihingia attended the programme as the Chief Speaker and delivered an informative lecture on the importance of health, hygienic practices, and necessary precautions to be adopted during the menstrual cycle. He emphasized the significance of maintaining proper dietary habits and advised that nutritious and recommended foods should be consumed during menstruation. He also discussed various menstrual cycle-related health issues, prevailing superstitious beliefs associated with menstruation, and highlighted the importance of consulting physicians in case of health complications.
The programme was presided over by Dr. Durga Prasad Gogoi, Principal of Namrup College. Dr. Chabi Gogoi, Director of WSDC, delivered the welcome address and highlighted the objectives of organizing the programme.
On the same occasion, the first issue of the WSDC journal “DHARITRI” was formally inaugurated by the Principal, Dr. Durga Prasad Gogoi. Dr. Jayanta Sonowal, Coordinator of IQAC, delivered a congratulatory speech during the inauguration ceremony and appreciated the efforts of the editorial team for bringing out the maiden issue of the journal.
The Chief Editor of DHARITRI, Dr. Chabi Gogoi, along with the Editors, Ms. Daisy Rani Doley and Ms. Rijumoni Das, were felicitated and presented the journal during the inaugural function.
The programme concluded successfully with active participation and enthusiasm from faculty members and students.
